when I received the set. I nearly stabbed myself grabbing my bag, assuming the knives had some sort of sheath. But it wasn't. So be careful. But dollar for dollar this set is a really great set of knives, especially for beginners. I've wanted a cheap spoon knife for a long time, so I got two more woodworking knives as a bonus. These knives required sharpening right out of the box, but they quickly became razor sharp and held their edge nicely when planed. In the near future I plan to replace the handles with horns. So I'll post pictures when I do that. Very cool set for people who love nature and like to be tricky.
