Calling him "bright" is a bit misleading. I was looking for something to heat the living room. It is actually intended for when the family sits on it with a blanket on their laps, like in the Japanese style of living at a low table. Which is good when my grandchildren come to visit. They're small enough and spend all of their time on the floor so I don't have to worry about them getting cold or drafty in the room when this is on. But I still get cold sitting on the couch on a chilly day. And I worry about the safety of furniture that can be moved in the usual way. (They say everything should be fine, but they don't say it with much confidence).
