Review on MICHELIN X-Ice North 4 205/55 R16 94T winter by Agata Warda ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I like it, thank you for the quality product.

Knowing the tendency of this brand to fall out of the spikes, I immediately decided to improve it, put the spikes on acylate glue, as they do in motorsport, though I had to scoff at the already installed spikes as much as possible. Many criticized me, prophesied the devil knows what, but everything is in order with the tires, for crawling, and this is already 15000 km, all the spikes are in place, and this is with very fast and aggressive driving. On dry pavement rubber behaves without any comments. Although the excessive softness of the rubber compound affects the characteristic roll during heavy braking, but this is at relatively high temperatures. On asphalt, the car seems to fidget on spikes in corners, especially on wet and snowy ones. This rubber shows its best qualities on rolled snow and ice. In such conditions, it even moves uphill without slipping, where the rest cannot even move. On ice, thanks to the prohibitive number of spikes, the rubber is well controlled. But if the speed mode is not chosen correctly, then the rear will slide or you may not fit into the turn. And if you also have ESPI, then it will be impossible for the gas committee to improve the situation. Acceleration on ice without significant slippage, but when braking, the ABS starts to crack early. On a rolled track, it happens, but not often, that the rear axle throws up, and the car quickly turns across the road. He walks confidently on the snow without burrowing, rowing forward and backward. If they didn’t sit firmly on their belly, then they swing even on loose snow. This made me very happy! But on wet slush in the conditions of urban salt porridge and fresh snow, the rubber does not really slow down and turns, it is prone to drift and skidding in corners.

Pros
  • A large number of small spikes with the expectation of operating conditions on snowy, rolled and icy country roads and highways. It behaves well in snowdrifts, does not burrow and confidently swings.
Cons
  • If the speed mode is not chosen correctly, then on a slippery road it skids the rear axle and blows the front axle. Uncertainly behaves on roads covered with wet salt porridge and fresh snow, floats and does not slow down at all. The biggest problem with this rubber is its price and huge expectations from the premium, but alas, this rubber is ordinary and does not differ much from others, it is overpriced one and a half times.
