Review on Enhanced Security Cylinder Lock - 1-1/4 inches - Includes Schlage Shaped Keys by PRIME-LINE Products by Ron Kishore

Having read other comments on here I was concerned when I ordered this that my key would not fit and I would have to: a) find a way to widen the keyhole like the other customer did. b) Use the keys that came in the kit and re-equip the front door. c) Cut thinner blanks for my front door key at the hardware store. d) File some metal on the side of my keys. Instead, I almost bought a real Schlage cylinder. But this one was a lot more reasonably priced, I decided to take a chance and use one of my contingency plans above if I was having trouble getting the fit. I was pleasantly surprised that my front door key fits very well. I have several other Schlage keys from friends and family homes that I have tried and they all work great as well. Something I learned while researching this project is that Schlage has different widths for different keys. While all the keys I've tried have worked, I believe other buyers have said their keys don't fit. I don't think that means Prime-Line is cheap or that their replica isn't the same as the original. I think buyers who have had problems have Schlage locks with wider keys because they are from a different product line. The quality seems great for the price. I'm just as comfortable with this lock as I was with the front door lock I already had. After getting the kit from Revain and watching a few YouTube videos, changing the key was easy. Hope that helps!
