The lug of the lock is very cheap and bent when I used the key to open the door after putting everything together. The key was so difficult to turn that I disassembled it and the shaft was bent when I tried to open it with the key. I was able to remove the stem from my original lock cylinder and put it on the new lock cylinder and now it works great, the key is not difficult to turn and it fits perfectly, but I would not buy this lock again!

I ordered this for our sliding door so it would come with a key. Went to the handle but then went to the locksmith to have the key remade. The included key LOOKS like a Schlage key but will not work with our real Schlage keys. HUGE PRODUCT. Only the key you get with it will work. Don't advertise or promote it as Schlage in the headline, it is NOT. That's Chinese shit. Don't waste time if you want all your keys in your house to match. If you don't care about key matching, then no problem.

Great product! I wish they would sell multiblock kits with the same keys so I could do my whole house at once without having to disassemble the cylinders. Beware of the cheap products from China. I bought two from Home Depot and tried making additional keys three times. Every time the keys entered the locks but didn't turn. When I found an old school locksmith he told me that the keys that came with the locks were slightly different. His preparations didn't work either.

I just had to replace this item in an old smart key latch that no longer worked. (This item is intended to be used in storm doors.) In order for it to fit into the body of the latch I had to file the top of it a bit. I recreated it with my Schlage set but the crown tool didn't fit in the end. I broke the key in my old lock cylinder and couldn't get it out. I was going to take it to a locksmith but thought of checking with Revain to see how much a replacement would cost. I was surprised that it cost less than $8 so I decided to give it a try. It was pretty easy to install. Installation is a bit tedious. It looks like the original lock cylinder, has the same dimensions, but is clearly not an exact replacement. As mentioned earlier, the door will open but not lock.
