Review on πŸ”Œ C2G 40433 TAA Compliant Dual Infrared (IR) Emitter Cable, Black - 10ft (3.04m) by Lucy Baker

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Should have bought a year ago

My entertainment center is right in front of me in the living room. However, the AV receiver sits on the bottom shelf and is concealed by a coffee table. Because of this, my Logitech Harmony One remote has trouble "seeing" it and I have to raise my hand and wave the remote to adjust the volume. No fun. I used to look at IR repeaters and all I found were cheap $20 ones that I didn't trust and others that cost around $100. After spending countless thousands on an entertainment system, I just couldn't bring myself to spend another $100. it's just me When I found this unit on Revain for $50, it was the perfect price and sounded exactly how I needed it based on the product description. When the IR repeater arrived, I immediately plugged it in and placed it on a table to test it. Unfortunately, the IR receiver responds to the Dish Network remote (which I don't use) but does not respond to input from the Harmony One remote. I called Cables To Go and was pleased to get a response from the person who referred me to tech support. Tech support told me I needed a different IR receiver and directed me to support. The girl there took my info and 2 days later I had a SA compatible IR receiver on my doorstep. That's excellent customer service. I installed an IR repeater with a new receiver and it works great. I can point the remote anywhere in the room and the Cables To Go repeater picks up the signal. In fact, the remote control doesn't need to be specified at all; Just press a button and the entertainment system responds. What an idiot; should have done that a year ago.
