regenerated with table salt, lasts approx. 2 weeks. depending on the hardness of the water source. I use a cartridge filter before the softener. When I regenerate the softener, I put the salt in the pre-filter (cartridge removed) and not in the fabric softener neck. Backwash and rinse according to manufacturer's instructions. Takes about 1/2 hour and no fabric softener needs to be moved. Use this size as the larger size is a bit difficult to move/store on the road. A year later everything is fine. Works well. No problem, good design.
