Review on ๐Ÿš— Enhance Your Vehicle's Suspension: Monroe 90009 Air Shock to Load Assist Shock Conversion Kit by Clarence Calcara

Revainrating 2 out of 5

does not restore ground clearance and does not withstand the load.

I put on a Deville 97 with a bad suspension compressor. Cheap, but more difficult to install than necessary, and they don't raise the rear of the car to the standard ride height even with no rear load. The car will likely fall off from behind with a load. My Deville also has new main coils in the rear, so those coiled shocks are really a pretty flimsy addition. They're also more difficult to install than necessary - you have to lower the lower arm to install and remove them, unlike standard air springs which can be installed without lowering the arm. With no rear cargo, the car drives well, a little softer than the stock but acceptable. Generally they really need a beef up and the coils on the shocks should be changed to progressive rate coils to avoid bottoming out.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • boring packaging
