Review on Enhance Your KitchenAid Experience with the New Metro Design KA-5L Original BeaterBlade for 5-Quart Bowl in White by Christopher Wells

I *really* wanted to love this product. I buy as much as possible Made in the USA - why send our money to China when only a small part of it comes back? But unfortunately the quality of this product is 50/50. However, it *IS* good value for money and does what it says on the tin, so I recommend buying it anyway. The problem I have with this unit is that the mount/gimbal tolerances are too tight. The photos provided clearly show that the KitchenAid nozzle has a hole diameter of 12.89 (12.9) mm. The New Metro blade has a diameter of 13.34 mm. This difference of over 0.4mm results in a weakening of the New Metro blade, as you can see in the video. While I didn't take specific measurements on the locking groove, the New Metro blade also seemed to have excess play. When the blender is powered by a motor the blade holds the blade and it seems strong enough but I'm a little unnerved to have such tolerances in such a solid mechanical device (my KA has a 1hp DC motor) . ). The fact that there is no metal core and instead the entire block is made of hard plastic only adds to my discomfort. But the wiper is perfect! In the final shot you can see me lighting the bowl - the light doesn't go past the squeegee blade and shows the blade making good contact with the wall of the mixing bowl. When the device is connected and powered on, the wiping effect is obvious. Note for operation: 1) Slightly increase the tolerances. Yes I know that means you have to buy new molds which is expensive. But since I measured the real KA shank at 12.65-12.7, that shouldn't be that much of a problem. 2) Take a metal core. I know that means the price will go up a bit, but I'd rather buy a blender that will still be usable in 5 years for a few bucks more than one that's cheaper and breaks in that time. 3) You have great wiper blades, don't change them even if you think it will help increase profits.
