I needed a device that could transmit the image of my security DVR camera, which is located at one end of the house, to the other end. I didn't want to use the DVR's web browser or run long HDMI and USB cables at home. This device fixed this problem by passing my HDMI and USB signal over LAN. Don't make the original mistake I made of running the unit through a router as this introduces lag and degrades the HDMI signal. It even works well when I transmit between 2 Gigabit network switches on my LAN. When active, it uses some bandwidth but does the job. I would buy this again.
