All I wanted was a clear projection of the current time over my bed at night. This device does the job perfectly without the unnecessary (expensive) extras. I have a bedside clock that I'm happy with, so I didn't care that it's just an honest clock. Over the years of working with this type of projection clock, I realized that all I needed was the projected time. No outside temp (a nightmare to stay connected and wait 5 seconds for me to see the time on the ceiling), no automatic RC time setting (problematic again). I also requested that the projected time could be rotated in 90 degree increments. The reason is that if you want to center the projection over the bed, you need an image at right angles to the clock face. This is one of the few watches to meet these criteria from reliable sources (LaCrosse and Oregon Scientific). And it's very cheap. Projection is easily four times brighter than my previous device. Turns and focuses well. Big enough to read at night without glasses. Being very concerned about the location of the projected time, I can't just put the clock on my bedside table. It is so light that it can be pushed out of its place. As you can see in the picture, I install the clock on the side of the bedside table after experimenting with angles and placement. I turn off the watch face backlight (four steps from off to brightest). Twice a year, during daylight saving time, I take off my watch and change the time setting in a matter of seconds. The buttons for this are clearly labeled and easy to use. I tried it as a night clock but to be honest the screen is so busy and the magazine is so compressed that I couldn't read it without glasses. My old bedside clock works perfectly. I really like this watch. Although my reasons may differ from yours!
