When the horn stopped working on my 2004 Suburban I started checking the fuses/connectors. The horn still worked from the remote but didn't sound when I pressed it on the steering wheel. After a bit of research on the internet, I found that the plastic bracket can sometimes break. So I disconnected the battery (let it sit for about 15 minutes to discharge the airbag) and removed the airbag. I immediately noticed that the clip was indeed broken and I just needed to replace it rather than the more expensive clock spring mechanism. So put everything back together and ordered this replacement. A few days later, when it came, I removed the airbag again and replaced this connector. Now everything works as it should again. Overall the job took less than 30 minutes (including a 15 minute wait for the airbag to deploy). A very simple replacement.
