We bought two of these. One for our 2006 Tundra and one for our 2019 Tundra. After a month of use in the '06 Tundra, the check engine light came on even after checking that the cap was screwed in properly until it clicked. After removing it and putting it on a regular cover, the Check Engine light went out. So the vent on this cover is obviously not designed properly. In our 19-year-old tundra, the lid wouldn't open when we tried to fill up with gas in a remote part of our state. Luckily someone had some tools and we had to pry off the top of the cap with a flat head screwdriver (not heavy at all) and then slightly unscrew the white threaded part. So anyone with basic tools can bypass this if they want to. The locking mechanisms inside are also rubbish and so flimsy that they can fail like they did on our cars. Save yourself money and frustration and just stick with your stock gas cap.
