Review on Cutting-Edge Hanperal Shank Cutter: Concrete Cement Hole Saw & Accessories Toolset by Jerimiah Augustine

I see skepticism but great product

Based on some reviews I was skeptical that a $17 part could even compete with an equivalent $150 Bosch part. But I decided to try anyway. I have a few basic bits and understand how to use them. My only concern was that it was an SDS Pro drill and not an SDS Max product as I recognize the power required to drill a 2" hole. Aside from the drill bit being a little underpowered for the job, the drill worked as expected. He drilled a nice 2" hole in the 12" foundation and luckily I didn't hit any steel in the process. Several things may have happened: 1. The pilot bit should ONLY be used to start the bit. Then REMOVE IT, including the set screw. I only drilled 1/4 inch and figured out the part. And when I removed the pilot, I found that the vibration slightly loosened the set screw, and the pilot was free to move inside the "cartridge”. In this case, the pilot would probably stop rotating and not allow the exercise to continue. Remember to break out the core every 3/4 - 1 1/4 inches. Without this, your drill bit will sit on the core and not on the teeth that need to be chewed to make the hole deeper.3. At the very end of the hole, the core broke off and got stuck in the drill. When I realized what had happened, the core had a rounded edge at the same depth as the teeth. No wonder it took me an extra minute to drill the last 2 inches deep. fine particles/dust/powder from the front edge of the cutting tool. In this case, speed up the cutting ability of the drill.5. When starting your well, make sure you start drilling in the direction you want it to go. Drills are designed to drill straight ahead from the direction you started. ANY deviation from the original direction will cause the drill to jam and significantly reduce drilling speed. I use a "line scale" set on top of the drill (before rotating the drill) to confirm the angle for the first inch or so of the hole. After that you have to move the bit left/right and up/down so that the bit "tells" you what the correct bit alignment should be. Hope that helps. - Steve
