A pair of struts is fairly easy to install on a 2004 Tundra Double Cab and compressing the springs took most of the time. FYI I also purchased a Lisle McPherson Strut Spring compressor from Revain which will not work with Tundra springs. While the Lisle is USA made and well built, I ended up having to rent a spring compressor from O'Reilly, which was also not "fully" compatible with the Tundra springs! Couldn't use the locking clips on all four clips again due to the diameter of the springs and that was a bit annoying! The hire had claws that were snug enough to grab it securely, but make sure you do it slowly and trade both sides as evenly and cleanly as possible. Incidentally, power tools are not recommended for turning spring compressors, otherwise you do it at your own risk and peril, which is what I did! Better ride and smoother handling after the first test ride, but possibly because both shock absorbers were replaced. blown up even if only one of them has an obvious leak. The blue and yellow color scheme that claims to be famous just pops up below and it's amazing! Compared to the Monroe it replaces, it feels like a slightly firmer and more stable ride, but there's no difference between day and night. Compressing both after installing Bilstein wouldn't even compress the backup anymore, hence the more pronounced smoother ride I think? It's recommended to have them checked at least every 50,000 miles taking into account all factors of your driving habits and conditions and to be honest I'm only realizing this now that my truck is getting older. Last but not least, I don't know if that will be an obstacle for those thinking about buying these 4600s and although the quality screams on first inspection and inspection, they are assembled in Mexico! I'd assume there's nothing wrong with that, given its geographic location, it's a poor quality product, but I was a little surprised. I've researched so much about this and even the picture in the Revain ad says "Assembled in USA" to buy a well known German quality brand that I thought was assembled by Thyssen-Krupp USA just to get a outsourced product for assembly in Mexico! I'm asking "PLEASE", don't get me wrong, I don't mean anything derogatory, nothing at all, nothing like that, but I just sometimes doubt the quality of an import, even if it's a branded product. I'm pretty sure they all adhere to strict quality control rules and specifications when it's legal and not fake or counterfeit! Is it bad to see a "Made in the USA" label that turns your head? But hey, maybe it's just me?
