Don't buy the best in shocks, struts and suspension

I thought it would be a good buy but after changing my strut and installing a new one and eating there is a continuous poking noise. like iron knocks on iron, so I had to exchange and buy the original. Made in Germany, assembly in Mexico not Mexico, wrong assembly.

Great on a 2000 Tundra

Put them on the front of my 2000 Tundra, fiddle around a bit, compress the spring and put it in, but that goes for all struts, not specific to this. The second set on the front of this truck, smooth ride but strong enough for rough conditions. I use another brand on the back after some testing. You can't go wrong with them all 70,000.

Pros
  • Complete set

Assembled in Mexico

As shown in the product photo, the Bilstein shock absorber was supposed to be made in the USA. One of the seller's photos clearly read "ASSEMBLY IN USA" which is why I ordered it and paid the price for a US made product as shown. I received an item made in Mexico. It's easy to change the US ASSEMBLY photo if you know your item doesn't match what is posted. buyer.

Kit delivered with new shock absorbers Wrong for 02 Toyota Tundra

Ordered a new pair of Bilstien 4600 shock absorbers and nowhere mentions that you may need to buy a new one which is more difficult to install. I had to purchase a new upper strut mount (cylinder) and new upper rubber bushings to properly install these new shocks. I think the website should mention this. The only two parts I could find for us are the bottom washer and the retaining bolt that fits on top of the shock. I didn't even notice it until I compressed the coil spring and tried…

  • Finally bought

  • for old

Bilstein is called! for shocks, struts and suspension

A pair of struts is fairly easy to install on a 2004 Tundra Double Cab and compressing the springs took most of the time. FYI I also purchased a Lisle McPherson Strut Spring compressor from Revain which will not work with Tundra springs. While the Lisle is USA made and well built, I ended up having to rent a spring compressor from O'Reilly, which was also not "fully" compatible with the Tundra springs! Couldn't use the locking clips on all four clips again due to the diameter of the springs and
