This product works great. My dog was constantly running out of my yard onto the freeway and I always had to tie him up in the yard. I have an Akita and he weighs about 110 pounds at just under a year old. I ended up using 6 gauge wire, which I bought locally due to my northern climate and the amount of belongings I have. I wired about 2.5 acres of land, and after playing around with it a bit, I figured out my problem with firing the wire. I am happy to announce that my dog no longer leaves the yard and can roam free. I originally set the collar to level 2 and found it was not strong enough for my dog's size and stubborn nature. 3 was the perfect setting for him. I walked around the territory with him along the fence on a leash for about a week - if he gets too close, a beep will sound, warning him of an impending electric shock. It didn't take long for him to figure out where he could and couldn't go, and now he can't even get near the fence. Highly recommended but I've given it 4 runs because of the mismatch of the cable that comes with it. I had to pay an extra $140 for good quality thick wire.
