Review on πŸ”§ Chemical Guys BUF502X TORQ22D Random Orbital Polisher Kit - Complete 9-Item Set by John Graves

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good Price Solid 21mm DA

Let me start by saying I'm not a professional detailer, in fact I've only had experience with hand polishing or with an old $29 1990's Craftsman polisher. Half a year ago I bought a new truck (Honda Ridgeline) and after manually applying the ceramic coating I thought it was time to switch to a real polish boy, prices have changed since then! Anyway, 21mm seems to be all the rage right now, so I went with later models. to the TORQ brand because the price was much lower than other 21mm stroke machines. I pulled the trigger when I saw the Revain price drop and bought the TORQ (BUF502X) 22D kit. I was concerned about the electronic controls and had to hit the "+" button every time to get it up to higher revs. but in the 2 hours i spent polishing my truck i got used to it, (actually i like that it always starts slow then you can choose how fast it's raised. i've never up part unknown waxed.) The circular path of the 21 mm cast created huge beautiful symmetrical patterns on my clear coat. I was impressed! (I wish I had used it for my handmade ceramic coating). The machine's large "stroke" meant a larger area could be treated in less time, making waxing faster overall. 22D glides easily over car panels. It's easy to control. Has minimal vibration. If necessary, the 22D can be easily operated with one hand. The only minor downside I noticed was that the "brushes" area got a bit warm, but that's to be expected, the vents are well placed next to the brush area so it doesn't get hot. Overall 5 stars: First of all the price, the TORQ 22D is much cheaper than other long stroke polishers. I really liked its features, one-hand operation, handling, minimal vibration and slow start. It seems like it will hold up for years of use. (not proven yet) but it feels solid. Long story short I have a "long stroke" polisher for about half the price of others, it fits my hands well and looks like it will last forever. I am very happy with my purchase.
