need to know for heavy duty water pumps

This will not work with the (heat traps) that ALL new water heaters have in the hot water outlet pipe. Heat traps must be removed, which is sometimes not possible without destroying the water heater. Be sure to research this before you buy. Update - I was able to use a piece of stiff wire to get to the hot water outlet and remove the heat traps. There were 2 rubber flaps in my tank. The system does what it's supposed to, but you still can't just turn on the water and jump in the shower. After the pump is running, the cold water supply line is filled with warm water until flushed. The shower temperature fluctuates until warm water comes out of the cold water pipes. If you need cold water, you must also leave it on to rinse out the warm water (waste). It's very easy to install, but I'm going to add a dedicated return line to eliminate chilled water supply interference. After a few months of use I can recommend it. The advantages far outweigh the disadvantages.

Pros
  • Rough plumbing
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
