Bought this for my girlfriend when she started cycling regularly, looks like just an updated version of what I've had for a long time. Very durable, the only complaint I can think of is that it's a bit small for some bikes, but we've rarely had any problems with locking. The cord is very, very handy for wrapping around a rear tire or frame, especially if what you're tying to isn't very comfortable. The whole thing is covered with a soft material, so don't worry about the paint being scratched. As for combos, that's why I buy these locks. I've heard stories of keys being duplicates, broken, lost, easy to crack, etc. With a combo lock I don't worry about that. I really wonder if someone can watch me lock/unlock and learn my combination, but so far neither my girlfriend nor I have had this problem. We actually install the same pin for our locks so that in an emergency we can swap or return each other's bikes. Yes, someone can pick it, but that goes for any lock if the thief really wants it.
