I have a lease and the latch hasn't clicked in the last few years. I tried it with a normal file, but it needed more than a little tweaking. I saw this on a YouTube video as a recommendation for this purpose. I used it with a medium quality cordless drill and it worked very quickly and just needed a little greasing on the elbow. It took about 20 seconds or less to fix which I couldn't in an hour of logging. Best of all, it showed no wear and tear for what I've done. If you have a new home, you can assume that you will need something like this at some point.
