Soft but very thin carpet
The carpet has a very soft texture with a non-slip backing, but note that it is very thin for a carpet. I'm returning the rug as I was planning to use it on hardwood floors - it's very soft but so thin it doesn't offer much padding. It should also be noted that wearing socks is slippery due to the material used - this should be borne in mind when using them on the landing.
