Review on Capresso 425 Portable Personal Coffee Maker, Sleek Silver/Black Design by Erica Noble

Very happy. Great coffee that is easy to make. Goodbye Kerig!

I spent hours researching alternatives to Keurig when ours died, including large drip machines, French presses, manual methods, and personal coffee makers. I bought Capresso On The Go based on the reviews and ease of use. Capresso is a great alternative to Keurig. We have had many Keurig coffee makers over the years and have never been able to make a good cup of coffee. Also, they always break within a year or two. The Capresso coffee machine makes excellent coffee. You can adjust the strength to your liking, and if you use a coffee grinder, you can also adjust the grind size. At first we thought the coffee tasted strange, until realizing we were used to Keurig's creamy bitter water. I used the cheapest coffee I could find at Keurig because even the expensive coffee didn't matter. When I realized that coffee made in Capresso actually tasted like coffee, I bought a coffee grinder and good quality coffee beans. Doesn't matter! We look forward to trying all types of coffee. While we're happy with Capresso, there are a few things to note. The water does not drain completely when you brew a cup of coffee. So if you use a mug to refill the tank, it will spill out the back of the machine and make a mess. We use a measuring cup to pour 11 ounces of water, not our coffee mug. As other reviewers have noted, the coffee continues to drip for up to a minute after brewing. To avoid confusion, we either let our cup stand an extra minute or put an empty cup in its place to catch the drips. My biggest complaint is the price. The machine is very simple and light and is mainly made of plastic. In my opinion the quality doesn't justify the price. Also, I just saw the same machine at Costco for $15, less than half the price I paid at Revain. It would be nice if the quality was better. It would also be great if there was a way to see how much water is in the car from the outside instead of trying to look inside. Apart from these few things we are very happy with the Capresso.
