In August 2017 I bought a non-RGB Trident Z-RAM for almost $200 for 2 x 8GB 3200 speedsticks and the RGB premium was ridiculous at the time so I have the nons -Get RGB version. Also because the software to run them would conflict with my Corsair ecosystem. Fast forward to February 2019 and I find out I can make any RGB RAM? And with the appropriate strips and cables to get them working through my Corsair control program? count me So I replaced some of the 4mm ARGB strips I was using on the back of the GPU and wired them to Corsair's iCue software for control. Your software allows me to configure 60 LEDs as a 6x10 LED strip. I already had 3 connected so I used 30 and the GPU backplate took 16 and these heatsinks allowed me to fit 8 LEDs on this strip i.e. 54 individually addressable LEDs. Now I've separated them so that the RAM heatsinks work as one channel and the GPU backplate as another, so I can have them layered with different effects, speeds, colors, etc. They even look like a real Z-RGB trident. ram, but better :D
