so I wouldn't be wrong if the original springs were bad or corroded. They were actually in excellent condition but as I had new ones I replaced them. They weren't as strong as the original ones. The mainsprings in particular can flex when inserted, which wasn't the case with the originals. The lower springs are slightly larger, so they fit tighter and have more resistance. So it works, but not OEM. I actually kept the original top springs in case they failed after feeling those arms.
