NOT RECOMMENDED FOR WALL SWITCH CONTROLLED SOCKET

I would not recommend this adapter for sockets where one of the sockets is controlled by a wall switch. The adapter covers the entire socket plate, for example both sockets (also called sockets). (There is a round plastic rod that goes into the bottom of another outlet to stabilize the adapter.) In a 3-prong configuration with the ground at the bottom, the adapter plugs into the top outlet (see photo ). For 3-pin configurations where the ground is at the top (usually those controlled by a wall switch), the adapter is flipped over and plugged into the bottom socket. In my apartment, the wall switch controls the top outlet in the bedroom and the bottom outlet in the living room. I ended up not being able to use the adapter in my bedroom as planned as the adapter went into the bottom outlet but completely covered the top outlet that I needed for the wall switch controlled lamp. I was going to send it back but chose to use it in the living room, in the bottom socket. I taped the wall switch to prevent accidentally turning off my TV, cable box, modem/router, and Apple TV. Hope this isn't too confusing.
