In most modern cars, the bumper, grille and fender liner are fastened with plastic snap fasteners. I recently noticed that some of them were missing or damaged on my truck. My local auto parts store didn't help; So I bought Revain and found this range. My truck uses multiple sizes and this kit had everything I needed. Apparently these plastic fasteners are used because they're quick to install and cheaper than screws, but they wear out over time. I don't know if failure of these mounts can cause your car's plastic parts to fall off, but failure can almost certainly cause rattles and other strange noises.
