Review on πŸ”Œ Enhanced Performance with Standard Motor Products CP516 Solenoid Canister Purge Control by Pete Norris

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works on Chevy Avalanche 2007 DIY!

Error code p0449, p0445 received. and p0055. All signs point to the EVAP canister, the solenoid replacement was fine. (If you have a check engine light go to an Autozone or Oreilly and they will read the code and often print out what the problem could be.) It also came with a jumper harness and a new bracket. On my Chevy Avalanche, and most likely most GM vehicles, it's next to the gas tank. I had to drop and remove the spare tire to access it. That's absolutely something you can do instead of taking it to the store, trust me. Wear clear eye protection when getting under the car, carry a flashlight and always use wheel chocks if available and also use spare brakes. lead forward. Once I found the old canister and solenoid, hoses etc, it wasn't difficult at all to remove. You will need to cut some zip ties and attach your own as they are not included in the leash attachment kit. As a beginner I have to say it was pretty easy and to the point. Put on the right work gloves, pants you don't want to get dirty, and bring some tunes. A little patience, zip ties, and some tools and you'll have it done in no time. Save a ton of money by doing it yourself. Watch some videos online and pay attention. He removed 2 of my trouble codes and I suspect the flush valve it is connected to (behind the alternator) could be the last of the faulty parts. Good luck and take precautions!
