I had a project that didn't necessarily require heavy materials. I settled on aluminum square tubing, acrylic and thin plywood. When it came time to attach the materials to the square tube I wasn't sure what I wanted to do. I didn't want to thread the aluminum since I'll be taking the machine apart a lot. Nuts/bolts/washers seemed tedious due to the quantity required (and the depth of the square tube). The thread insert was more work than it was worth. I left the project alone and waited for the inspiration to hit me. A few weeks later I saw a video from World of Engineering on Twitter showing the rivet nuts. Excellent! A few days later I had my hands on a set of Reegoo 10-24 stainless steel rivet nuts. I used it with an Astro two hand tool and it worked great. They are crushed, had no damaged carvings and look great! The only downside is that this is just an everyday set. You need to buy more than your specific size for larger projects...but it's a great overall set.Recommend.
