Firstly I didn't have to use tape so I can't rate that part of the product. Otherwise it's great. Places it under my 40 gallon reptile tank (for the ball python) under its burrow. I keep the temperature in my apartment at 66 degrees, so you can imagine he's not very happy with his temperature as the heat lamp isn't heating the bottom of the cage enough. I had a Zilla heater mat for my last aquarium which I removed when I bought this as it was old and falling apart. It's wonderful for the price. I think the previous rug was over $30. My temperature has gone to the max since I put newspapers in the bottom of the tank. My reptile is always warm when I take it out and is much livelier than before. I notice that he is getting warm enough since he comes out of his cave much more often. I highly recommend this product.
