So I'm giving this item 5 stars with the caveat that I've only had it about a month and haven't tried the sharpener yet. There are several Hori Hori available from Revain - I chose this one for three reasons - the scabbard looked better than others I've seen, the price was good given the number of good reviews and the presence of a guard. I'm a rogue and can imagine doing something crazy that involves hacking, banging on a rock, slipping off a grip and slicing into myself - hence the need for a guard. roots and even made some small plantings. A real treasure in the garden!
