The rod holder is easy to install but I personally recommend using locally sourced stainless steel bolts, washers and nuts. Mine didn't include washers and the screws weren't shiny stainless steel. They were dull plain steel with no height markings. You have to drill holes. I also recommend, as others have suggested, using some sort of rubber pad under the wearer's feet so the paintwork doesn't get ruined. My van is a factory rebuild of a 2012 E150 and it fits perfectly when I measure and align properly. My van used to have a rear tire holder but the hole pattern was different so I had to drill new holes.
