Fits E150 in spare wheel holder

Great for my 1998 E150. However, the mounting hardware is junk. Use. I have stainless steel and lock nuts to replace it. You will also need either a washer or a load distribution plate. Otherwise, the door may deform or bend. I also put a rubber grommet and tape on the door to keep the paint from chafing. . I use masking tape when marking and drilling the door. Help with marking holes will make the task easier.

He secured my spare tire with no problems.

The tire holder was easy to install and did what it was supposed to do for my spare tire. I had to drill additional holes on the carrier because my rim had eight holes and slightly more than the carrier configuration, but the rebuild went smoothly. Van spare wheel mounts are hard to find, and when you can find them, they're usually expensive. Not Surco - good quality and good price.

2012 Ford E-350 XLT

If you can use a screwdriver, you can install this tire holder. I used 3m of double sided decorative tape on the grommets of the bracket to prevent the bracket from chafing the paint on the door. I also added a washer and a large silicone bead to the side of the nut and bolt. I would also suggest that you use the box the bracket comes in as a template to set up the bracket, mark the holes with a marker, mount the bracket to the door making sure the marks match, drill a 1/8" hole and then 5/16"โ€ฆ

Great product for E150 only!

This is a well made product that is a perfect match for the Ford E Series van. The problem with this, and it's not mentioned in the description, is that it's designed exclusively for an E150 van with 15" wheels! If you have an E250 or E350 with 16" wheels this mount will not work for you. First, the 16" bolt pattern does not match the pre-drilled mounting holes. Second, the 16-inch tire and wheel are wider than the van door, so you can't fully open the door and there is a chance of breaking the

Easy to install but own hardware recommended

The rod holder is easy to install but I personally recommend using locally sourced stainless steel bolts, washers and nuts. Mine didn't include washers and the screws weren't shiny stainless steel. They were dull plain steel with no height markings. You have to drill holes. I also recommend, as others have suggested, using some sort of rubber pad under the wearer's feet so the paintwork doesn't get ruined. My van is a factory rebuild of a 2012 E150 and it fits perfectly when I measure and align

Good product for the price. Some discs may require minor modifications.

Good solid design for a standard size tire. The rim is attached to the holder with two large threaded bolts that go through square holes to prevent twisting when installing and removing the spare wheel. Round lock washers hold them in the square mounting holes. I replaced the carriage bolts with studs that match the conical nuts to keep the mounting holes from being damaged over time and impact. This means you must hold on to the bolts to prevent twisting when the spare tire is removed. This is

It's not worth it. in spare wheel holders

Bought for my husband's E150 van two years ago. I thought it was a good buy, turns out it wasn't. First, this carrier attaches to the driver's side liftgate rather than the old-style hinges, allowing the full weight of the tire to rest on the sheet metal door. Secondly, if your Ford van uses larger commercial 16" light truck tires than your door and the trunk creates an ungodly rumble from the vibration of this setup, and if your van uses 15" car tires, then squeeze the trunk against tires, itโ€ฆ

Can I make the 2009 Chevy Express

Checked the Surco website as the Chevy listed here is for older models that use exterior door hinges. This model was recommended for later Chevy models and works well but needs some "modifications": 1. Spare wheel slots will not fit 8-hole rims - you will need to lengthen the slots - Sawzall is useful.2. The mounting tabs should be bent slightly to match the curve of the door.3. Place most of the hardware. It's lightweight and galvanized. We bought stainless screws for mounting the block. Theโ€ฆ
