I bought them to do ovulation tests. I took them on a trip to soak my retainer but they are too small to fit in my retainer. So I would say that they are suitable for ovulation tests, but they cannot hold too much weight (the weight of transparent blue ovulation tests). I would have to use two cups - one for the top holder and one for the bottom. I would advise a larger size. Even if used as a drinking cup I would say maybe for very young children and not adults.
