Review on Airaid Cold Air Intake System for Ford Mustang 2011-2014: Boosted Horsepower, Premium Filtration - AIR-451-265 by Juan Crane

I installed a new air intake on my 2012 V6 Mustang tonight. The rotomolded parts are of excellent quality and fit like a glove. In fact, all parts are of high quality, including screws and worm clamps. Installation took 45 minutes to an hour and was just EASY. Housing without a worm drive clamp, then install the inlet pipe into the cold air box and feed the pipe into the larger end of the coupling. Then unscrew the worm drive clamps completely to loosen the plain end, open them to form a U, position over the coupler, slide the plain end back so it catches with the screw and pull it tight. Another precaution is to cover the air intake at the bottom of the box with a cloth in case you drop the screws while attaching the intake pipe to the cold air plenum from the inside. equipped - really a factory version of quality. Once fitted and after the ECU has adjusted to the new airflow after a short drive, the open throttle noise is amazing. After driving about 20 miles on the freeway at 78 mph (God bless Texas!), the average fuel consumption per gallon was the same as before the new recording. Noise levels are the same as before while cruising, but when the gas pedal is depressed up a hill to maintain speed, the air intake growls. :-) I'll look at the performance gain later, but for now the sound alone is enough to turn off the sound system and just ENJOY! Finish when I installed it - it looked like a small piece had been cut out, but that was a casting defect and probably won't affect the overall life of the part. However, I have emailed the photo to Airaid for information. Daniel responded quickly and sent a replacement which I received a few days later - great service!
