the replacement ball joint on my jeep was not lubricated and the mechanic forgot something but it started squeaking a few months after installation, there was no plug to lubricate so i have a video on it found youtube where they used a needle to inject grease through the plastic, this one works fine, the puncture is not so big that it damages the plastic and you can fill the hinge ball with grease, the noise went away immediately. If you do this I recommend checking your joint for damage from time to time, so far mine is perfect. The other one, also replaced a year earlier, had a broken plastic cover and I didn't do anything to it, so I have to replace it before the one I lubricated.
