Review on Wavian USA JC0010BLVS NATO Jerry Fuel Can and Spout System - Authentic Blue (10 Litre) by Russ Conrad

Small problems galore

When I originally arrived in a damaged shipping box, I was surprised to find a dent in the back corner of the fuel can. Surprised because the dent on the fuel tank did not match ANY of the dents or holes in the shipping box. But I decided that a dent of this size was not enough to warrant returning the entire product; I've read many other reviews complaining of much larger dents. I then turned my attention to the supplied filler neck, which was securely attached to the top of the fuel tank with a broken zip-tie. Since the tie was torn at the ratchet portion of the tie, I thought maybe the drain spout came loose during shipping when one of the other dents formed on the shipping box. Another minor inconvenience I can live with. Finally, when checking the installation of the supplied spout, a serious problem was discovered: the spout would not attach securely to the opening of the can. The locking mechanism (Wavian calls it a "bayonet lock") would not attach. Both the Revain product image and the tutorial video on Wavian's YouTube channel show how the bayonet goes through the holes on either side of the fuel filler neck when the filler neck is snug against the bottle. However, despite my best efforts, I was unable to reproduce the same results; The bayonet clip could only travel part of the way before stopping. As I applied more pressure to the bayonet ferrule, I began to hear the metal buckle and creak under my weight. I decided this was enough; Spout included does not fit the fuel tank. Also, for some reason, there was too much grease around the gas cap gasket.
