Why only for tables?

The description says they are for tables only and I have no idea that they didn't have a why. Upon receipt I was told they have a grippy rubber ring on the bottom to keep the tables in place. It's a great idea, but the chairs won't slip either! I just ripped out the ring and then they were good for my chairs.
