Review on Superior Sasaki Takumi Japanese AUS-10 8-Inch Chef Knife: Premium Stainless Steel Blade with Locking Sheath, Enhanced Performance in Black by Molly Hoffman

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent knife Santoku

I'm a fan of Santoku knives (Japanese for "Three Virtues") for cutting, slicing and chopping and I always buy Shun branded products. I also have a couple of Wüsthof chef's knives, but there's something about Japanese knives that keeps me coming back to them because they look so unique and are so much fun to cut. This Sasaki is very similar to Shun in terms of craftsmanship, beauty, balance and strength are qualities that the Japanese value very much in their work. I'm by no means an expert on knives, but when Shun knives have lasted this long and still cut very well while still retaining their beauty and unique looks, that makes me a happy chef! The Sasaki cuts VERY well, the handle feels good and is very well balanced (as all knives should be). It's also a bit cheaper overall than my favorite Shun brand (which I also like the look and logo of better) and I'd have no hesitation in recommending it, especially as it comes with a plastic sheath with a clasp to prevent accidents. Minimum. Wonderful knife! If you found this review helpful, please click the Yes/Useful button to encourage me to write more. Thank you!
