Review on Maximize Control with Minn Kota 1866150 Copilot System (Wireless) by Fred Maki

I bought a new Minn Kota Power Drive two years ago and while it worked well, I found the pedal controls uncomfortable and had trouble making small adjustments. I don't boat/fish as much as I'd like and it took me half a day for each ride to learn how to pedal with confidence. This wireless controller is easy to install in about 15 minutes and all you need is a screwdriver. It worked great right away. It's much easier to control the direction and speed of the trolling motor with a handheld remote. I wish I had bought it 2 years ago! Makes fishing much more enjoyable. Works fine anywhere in my 18" center console. The only issue I had was that when a couple of passengers got between me and the locomotive it didn't respond, step to the left and it worked. Can't think of anything yet say the battery life of the remote, so far I've only used it on a 4 day fishing trip with no problems.The foot pedal stays in the boat just in case, but I don't leave it plugged in.
