We've been Vitamixers for 15 years. My parents were Vitamixers, my grandparents were Vitamixers, and all of my siblings were Vitamixers too. It seems to be one of those things that families like Ford or Chevy tend to do. Anyway, we've ALWAYS used Vitamix blenders and they've been great, but our old one needed a new blade (I'd replaced it before) and while the motor was still fine I wanted to see how far the blender technology had come came. since we bought our Vitamix 15 years ago. I've heard a lot about Nutribullet but was put off by the small container size and lack of various types of lids, pitcher spouts, etc. Then I found Nutribullet Rx, which offers a container size close to that of our Vitamix container. and they sold me! I wanted it for Christmas. I/We have used it AT LEAST 3 times a day since Christmas and I'm a huge fan of it! I drink two smoothies a day, my husband likes to make milkshakes out of them and my son who has autism and has very limited food choices gets a smoothie every night with dinner. It's the only way he can add protein, fruits, vegetables, probiotics and everything he needs to his diet. He is VERY picky! If there's even the tiniest bit of truth in it, or if his cocktail isn't perfectly mixed, he'll refuse anything. So far this has been the absolute winner for our needs! I thought my old Vitamix did a good job blending my greens, but it wasn't until I tried this one that I realized it leaves bits and chunks that make the Nutribullet mixes COMPLETELY oily. smooth; smooth! Frozen fruits that have given us vitamin problems (bananas, avocados, strawberries, and peaches) are usually not a problem for Nutribullets. It's faster, easier to clean and takes up less space on our desk. I love it! I only have a couple of complaints: * It really annoys me that they don't do liquid measurements on jugs/jars. It's the simple things you just take for granted that blender companies do! Unfortunately, there are no size indications on these jugs, so I had to write them with a permanent marker for convenience and ease of use. It's really, REALLY stupid that they didn't. * We have found that if you let it run its cycle and automatically shut off, the resulting drink is too warm. If you're making soup or bulletproof coffee, no problem, but bad news for cocktails. Those blades spin fast and blend fast and in our experience the smoothie ALWAYS cooks MUCH sooner than the auto shut off so we just push a button to stop it manually or pull the jar out of the base which also stops it. Still, we must be careful not to lengthen the process and add more ice cubes because we find that this heats the contents MUCH faster than our Vitaminix. Just something to be aware of. *While we find this method easier to clean than our old Vitamix, this blade assembly is not dishwasher safe. Hand washing is easy, of course, but I always have to deduct "points” for kitchen helpers whose parts aren’t allowed in the dishwasher. If you're making a part that can't be washed in the dishwasher, at least add a special brush or something for manual cleaning, or some sort of stand to set it up while it's drying or not in use. . At the end we let it dry in the sink and keep it on its side on the mixer itself (see photo). This thing doesn't have that ability. It keeps it simple, which is nice, but I just want to blend nutrients, not blend or extract, and full power/speed is just too much. It would be nice if there was at least an option for low and high speeds. That being said, when you compare the price of the Vitamix and Nutribullet Rx to the performance and features, what you get for your money in Nutribute Rx is MUCH BETTER than what you get from Vitamix or maybe Blendtek (although I don't think so can not). speaking from personal experience). Before shelling out hundreds on one of these lawnmower motor blenders, I highly recommend trying the Nutribullet Rx first. It's used very heavily every day and has yet to find a fruit, vegetable or powder that it can't COMPLETELY emulsify. I sincerely hope this review was helpful to someone else! And yes, I paid full price for it. Feel free to ask any questions!
