Original Rating of this Screwdriver Set: I really wanted this screwdriver set as it is made in the USA and I really like the old fashioned way of making it from good wood and steel . I bought this set specifically because of the above characteristics and the fact that this set was said to be made for COLT pistols. I have two genuine 1851 2nd generation Colt pistols that I frequently have to disassemble and reassemble for cleaning and oiling. First, these are NOT hollow screwdrivers. They are not straight, but tapered. They have very flat tips to fit snugly in the screw slots, which I like. The biggest problem is that the #5 fits my Colts props perfectly, but the big #6 and #7 props don't fit at all. . They don't even fit in the large screw slots they were designed for. That means I have to take a file and adapt it to my colt. I consider it a "problem" when the top of this kit says they are for Colt pistols. 1851 Italian Replica screws fit real Colts very well, so the same problems occur with Colt Replicas and original Colts. Additional Comments: I took Dan's suggestion in the comment below and bought the HG 3 Peacemaker Screwdriver Set! First let me state that while my above review is correct in the sense that these are not hollow ground screwdrivers, they are made specifically for the gunsmith and I stand by my statement above that they fit precisely into slots for screws fit. They are designed for specific gun and screw sets in the sense that the flat end of the screwdrivers fit snugly on the screws and are designed not to damage the gun. Using a special set of Colt Peacemaker screwdrivers, I was able to easily disassemble my 1851 primer and ball pistols from various manufacturers except Colt. It's nice to have 3 dedicated screwdrivers to fit each screw if needed. I am now a satisfied customer and can recommend them. I will not hesitate to call Grace if you are unsure of which kit to purchase for your needs. Just be sure to buy a set that fits your gun. Made in America with ancient craftsmanship.
