The first thing that struck me when I opened the plastic packaging these mats came in was a strong synthetic smell. I'm not easily irritated by "chemical" smells when I receive new products. This smell was so overpowering that I might not have kept the product even if it had met all remaining expectations. The next thing that struck me was the lack of any quality that matched the description of these "anti-fatigue" carpets. The texture and construction were of the same quality as a regular kitchen rug found at a discount store. I returned them immediately.
