Review on UPERFECT Automatic Touchscreen: 15.6" Ultrawide Frameless Portable Screen with 3840X2160 Resolution by Chris Marable

Extremely Happy is a great travel monitor

I'm currently traveling with two Asus (1080p) USB monitors and while they're not bad, they're not great in terms of colour, viewing angles and resolution. I program quite a bit and have 3 fairly large 4k monitors in my home setup. While traveling and using that tiny 13 inch screen on my Surface Book 1, it was always very painful. Better resolution and then I found this one. There were a few others I looked at as well but this one had more reviews that looked like real and legit reviews and in general people were very happy so I sent it to my hotel. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get it until the last day of my trip, but I have to say I was very surprised at how well it worked. It also had touch controls, which I've always loved having in my Surface Book. When I got home, instead of putting it in my travel electronics drawer where I keep all the cables and my two Asus monitors that I keep until my next trip, I decided to add this guy to my current 3 monitor setup. Touchscreen and in some meetings where I illustrate things on the web, a touchscreen is awfully nice. My two main complaints, which are minor: 1) On Windows 10, this monitor should be your primary display. I thought it was a problem with this monitor due to a bug in the device, but found that it was actually a Windows issue. If you have a second non-touch display attached to your installation and you attach an additional display that supports touch, touch input will only appear on the display defined as the "primary display" in your multi-screen mode registered . Melody. It's stupid, but it's from Microsoft, not UPerfect.2) It would be nice to have a travel case to protect it. UPerfect will send you a case to protect it if you ask, which is nice (mine is on the way), but I think I'd rather have it with me. They give you color options, which of course is fine, but I think I'd still like black as the default. Don't know how nice it is, the one that came with my ASUS MB169B+ was pretty decent and probably saved it a time or two if someone wasn't too gentle at the airport. I was happy to find that this case fits the case I had for my ASUS monitor quite snugly so I may be able to replace the cases once the UPerfect case arrives if I think the Asus case is a better one job would do. These two disadvantages were not. It's a big deal for me to take off all the stars, so overall I'd say it's still a good buy. I hope this lasts long as it was an investment, but so far the folks at UPerfect seem very responsive (questions were usually answered within a few hours of my asking). One final note: I was able to get this to work using the Microsoft Dock Connector 2 via the USB-C port. I was very happy to see how it worked as the Surface Book 1 didn't have a USB-C port. When not using a dock I used a USB-A -> USB-C cable and then an HDMI -> Mini DisplayPort connector (make sure it supports 4k display) and it worked great . UPDATE 2020-11-18 Just thought I'd update that I still love this screen. I use it in my main setup now and love it. The hinge works great and hasn't loosened or anything that made me nervous at first. I like that the touch screen is used in my main setup. Even with my music playing and my Outlook open so I can tap on it right away to see something new pop up while I'm still programming and doing other things I do on my other three screens. The case they sent me was fine, it protects it from scratches, but once this COVID thing stops and I start traveling I will most likely just use the case that my previous USBs with Asus monitors came in since they are much stronger and won't let anything pierce the screen and even keeps it warped in my travel bag. Another fantastic device and I would recommend it to anyone who can use a travel screen or a basic touch screen. UPDATE May 25, 2021 - **How to make the touchscreen a non-primary monitor** Still very happy with the monitor. I now use it for my basic setup at home and take it with me when I travel. Thought I'd add instructions for those who use it as a secondary monitor and still want touch control on Windows 10. By default, touch controls are enabled, you must make it the primary monitor or touch controls will actually respond to your other screen and not the intended touchscreen. To work around this: 1) Set the desired monitor as the primary monitor (assuming it's not touchscreen). 2) Go to Cortana/Search bar, type "calibrate screen for pen or touch" and press Enter. 3) The Tablet PC Settings window should now appear, click Settings at the top (Settings section) of the Display tab. 4) This will turn one of the screens white with a small explanatory text. You can read the text, but essentially you have to press Enter once or twice for the message screen's white background to switch to your actual touchscreen. , now you can't make your touchscreen your main monitor. Hope that helps!
