Review on Enhanced Performance Intake Manifold - Edelbrock 2716 EPS by Bob Trapp

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Performance Replacement Parts

This intake manifold was purchased in place of the Edelbrock air gap for the Vortec heads because Edelbrock did not make the Vortec air gap when I was looking for the intake manifold. I was very happy with it. Even with a higher 10.5:1 compression ratio and 34 degree valve timing, this air intake is a great design and delivers more power without detonation in my application. I use a 180 degree thermostat and a 3/4" aluminum dual row radiator with a 50/50 mix and Hyper Lube Supercoolant additive. The intake manifold has an excellent finish and wears well through all thermal cycles. The carburetor is a Quick Fuel 750. I really wanted the air gap to keep the intake air temp down, but this EPS doesn't seem to have any heat issues. In fact, EPS was highly rated in a recent inlet article in 2013.
