Review on ๐ŸŒก๏ธ AMIR Indoor Outdoor Thermometer with 3 Wireless Sensors and LCD Backlight: A Reliable Temperature Humidity Monitor for Home, Office, and Baby Room by Eric Trask

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Seems to be working fine. The display is too small to read easily over 5 feet or so.

The system seems to work fine the way I set it up. I have a sensor located in an unheated, enclosed porch about 20 feet from the display; the second sensor is one floor above the display unit, also about 20 feet away; and a third sensor located outside under a canopy on the second floor about 25 feet from the display unit. Each location has an intermediate wall between the sensor and the display unit. None of these transmission distances come close to the stated operating range, so I can't say if it meets that spec, but it works fine the way I've positioned the sensors, although the "operating environment" has quite a bit of radio interference, including another radio sensor for another temperature/humidity display and a weather station with a set of wireless outdoor sensors. I have not noticed any interference between these sensors or any adverse effect on readings from this AMIR device. The system has been up and running for about a couple of months and has worked well so far. This device's display is large enough to be easy to read from several feet away, but with six two-digit numbers in an overall display of about 3 inches by 2 inches, it's not big enough to make it more than 3 inches easy read 5 feet away, meaning it can't be read from different points in space (which is a downside). The only other downside (for my use) is that it doesn't include a clock, which prevents me from using it to substitute a different indoor/outdoor temp. / combined display unit for humidity and clock whose outdoor sensor has failed. Apart from these minor flaws, I'm quite happy with the system.

Pros
  • Patio, lawn and garden
Cons
  • I don't like anything about it, everything is fine
