Review on Pawfly MA 60 Aquarium Gallon Accessories by Kelly Burton

Bought this item to power the sponge filter in a small tank. I have used a pump, air hose and check valve but cannot comment on the air stone. The pump works great and is quiet as long as it sits flat on the surface. If something is pressed against it or it isn't lying flat on the surface, it will make a rattling or vibrating sound. It was the same with a well-known brand pump that I bought before. If you move the pump, the noise will stop. The check valve works great too. I've lost power twice since installing it and it has protected the pump. I would NOT recommend using the supplied air line. It has an opaque, cloudy appearance, not clear like the line you buy at the pet store. Unfortunately, this is due to the coating, which quickly dissolves in water. As you can see in the photo, after a week and a half the airline's coating is peeling off and peeling off. I have white particles in my tank water and on all black rocks in the tank. Some were large enough to be taken apart and as soon as they got on my fingers they melted into a gooey mess that I had to wipe off. So this airline is covered in something that quickly decomposes underwater. It also discolours quickly. Luckily I had line from my local fish store to replace them with. My tank has snails, so I know they ate some of those plastic particles. So far they seem to be good, but I'm really annoyed that the catenary wasn't waterproof. (Note that the portion of the airline that wasn't submerged hasn't collapsed yet.) Throw away the included airline and purchase an airline at your local fish store. The rest of the items work perfectly. I would advise the manufacturer to take this air hose out of the box. Other items still have good value without them.
