Avoid at all costs!

I bought this pump for my Betta aquarium. Used it for a week and thought my betta enjoyed the ventilation. Today my rooster's health has deteriorated sharply - his color was sickly and he kept his cock tightly closed. He jumped out of his tank today while I was at work. This pump, line and aerator were the only new items I added to his aquarium. I tried to save him too late. Avoid this bubbler at all costs! :(

To set the flow:

Does the job perfectly. At first I was concerned that the flow was too much for the betta so I found a way to reduce the amount of bubbles as the pump itself has no settings. Just take a thumbtack and poke a few holes in the tubing next to the pump. They give you quite a few tubes so if you get confused just cut that piece off and try again. This part is optional, but you can tie a loose knot on the tubing to cover some of the holes and adjust the coverage/tension until you get the bubble flow…

worth playing? in aquarium pumps and filters

Worked great until the pump stopped working - it lasted a little under two weeks. I just walked in one day and it wasn't making any noise so I checked it out and it just died. I connected the pump to the air stone. I installed it on the floor (under the 10g tank) so I used a check valve and made a loop on the hose. My fish seem fine with filter circulation only, so I haven't had to replace the pump yet. As for the noise, it was pretty quiet. If I was in the room I would definitely hear the hum,

Loud and self-propelled!

I've learned that the term 'quiet' is subjective. I bought it to air a quarantine aquarium. The pump is tiny by my standards and noisy. Also, it vibrates too much compared to my other large pumps. It's a great little thing, but the noise, lack of speed/pressure control, and device drift make it useless for those expecting quiet stability. Vendors said they would "put a blanket under the pump" to muffle the noise. It doesn't do anything and shouldn't be required. The pump is just a powerful…

According to the product, 10 gallons is recommended for this air pump. Mine is set at 16 gallons and works great. So if anyone is wondering if the tank could be a bit bigger and the air pump still looks good, the question is yes! I turned on my air pump for the first time. Today my two new guppies were just as happy as my GloFish Tetras! You were very curious! This air pump is very quiet with a relaxing sound of bubbles hitting the water surface. Complete 5 stars! Update (07/27/18): Air pump…

Cheap and works. No frills

5 stars for affordability and functionality. Use if you are on a budget. USE: Hydroponic room bucket. I have tried several of these pumps. Everyone works the same. EVERYTHING vibrates and makes noise. Completely ignore the exaggerated commercials that it's so quiet a child can sleep next to it. It's a little quieter than the ones I bought at Walmart. Airflow is very average. I use it in a 5 gallon tank with a two stone separator. This "should" do the job. The bubbles cover about 50% of the…

Throw away the airline

Bought this item to power the sponge filter in a small tank. I have used a pump, air hose and check valve but cannot comment on the air stone. The pump works great and is quiet as long as it sits flat on the surface. If something is pressed against it or it isn't lying flat on the surface, it will make a rattling or vibrating sound. It was the same with a well-known brand pump that I bought before. If you move the pump, the noise will stop. The check valve works great too. I've lost power twice
