It would be better if the markings were darker so that they would be easy to read. The mark is engraved on the glass (white color). If you measure something bright, the markings will mix with the liquid, making it difficult to read. I ended up using sharpie to darken the outside engravings so they could be read. If you find one that has darker markings, buy it.
