I'm so glad the mechanic down the road didn't fix my car
My wife asked the store down the street for a quote on fixing a problem that was preventing our back door from opening. We have a 2009 Ford Escape Limited. The store charged us $800 to fix it. We thanked them, but no, and since I'm an engineer, we decided to give it a try. And I'm glad I did (and will do so in the future). Replacing the tailgate actuator was actually very easy and I paid less than $30 to replace it myself. The drive is connected correctly and is working as expected.
